Biking in Copenhagen can easily be summed up in one word: terrifying.
As a first timer here you will have your fair share of falls while experiencing the awful and spine-tingling sound of a bell while you hold your breath, certain that you will meet your end via the bike lane.
Fear not, at least in one of your ventures you will now be okay! The art of making a right-hand turn is presented before you. This is easily one of the most fear inducing projects when learning to bike in Copenhagen. It is important to remember to stay calm and to try not to scream.
Step 1: Take a deep breath. It’s going to be okay.
When you want to STOP, make a 90 degree angle upward with your left or right hand indicating to your fellow bikers your intentions of stopping.
Stick out your right hand using the turn right motion. Remember to do this a couple of seconds before the actual turn so other bikers know about your intentions.
Pedal onwards, Congratulations you did it.
